• Place entrance or modem
• Connect to your gateway
• Wait for the gateway or modem to be ready
• It can take up to 10 minutes for the gateway or modem to be ready to activate.
• Establish a temporary internet connection
• Connect via wifi
• Print the network name (SSID) and password at the side, back, or bottom of the gateway or modem.
• The name may look like Home-XXXX or XFSETUP-XXXX.
• Go to WiFi Settings on your WiFi-enabled device and choose the network name from the list of available networks.
• Enter the password when prompted.
• If you are prompted to enter a PIN instead of a password, click Connect using a Security Key link to enter the password in the Security Key area.
• Activate your gateway or modem
• Open a web browser and go to xfinity.com/authorize
• Follow the onscreen prompts to initiate activation. If you have yet to set a username and password, you will need your account information.
• Connect to a home network
• After activation, connect your device to your home network with your WiFi name and password, if your gateway or modem supports a wireless connection.
